| The Tracy-Luckey Company
was founded in 1892. From a very small beginning, it has developed
into one of the leaders in the pecan shelling industry.
In
the fall of 1937, the Tracy family of Harlem , Georgia, Ruth R.
and Arthur M. Tracy and their son Francis W. Tracy began to purchase
in-shell pecans from local area growers, shell them in a converted
garage, and sell the meats to retail and wholesale users: candy
makers, bakers, ice cream manufacturers.
During the first season the venture, known as Tracy's Pecan Products,
shelled approximately 20,000 pounds. Over the years the company
made steady and profitable progress. Marion W. Luckey, Sr. joined
the management team in 1946 and became a partner a year later.
In the early 1950's the company was incorporated and the name
changed to Tracy-Luckey and the tradition continues.
In the 1970's added emphasis was given to ice cream products,
an emphasis which continues today with expanding production from
the candy coating and roasting.
Simultaneously, with the proliferation of pecan cereals, pecan
cookies and crackers, pecan pie crusts, pecan icings, pecans in
cake mix, trail mix, nut mix, not to mention the old favorite,
butter pecan and the new "Pralines 'n' Cream" ice cream
flavors, Tracy-Luckey achieved representation on virtually every
isle of the supermarket.
The 90's found the production and sales staff bringing forward
more products, further developing shelling and quality control
technology, and emphasizing timely order fulfillment.
What we did at the beginning, we still do, in greater quantities,
faster, with more accuracy, and with an ever-growing concern to
please our customers.
We pride ourselves as offering top quality products and our prices
tend to be on the upper level of industry offerings. We have strong
and loyal customers who are pleased with the service we give and
uniform quality of our products.
